Con Safos baby

I decided to change my blog after almost a year of not using it because I wasn't doing enough work to put on here. Thats probably all about to change but nevermind, this is what's good right now. I recently got more of my ribs tattooed a few weeks ago by Valerie. She's doing a sweet job on it. Check out her work www.valerievargas.com, she's an amazing tattooist.

In other news Decked will be sponsored by Vans this year, so expect to see 15 pairs of customized Chukka Boots. We're working on the private view at the moment so look out for announcements there. We will also be a UPFest in Bristol on 5th June, 7 hours of live painting and the finished result will be auctioned off for charity so come along and check it out. It's the first year the organisers have added Illustrators so its an honour to be invited.

Decked Private View

The private view for Decked turned out incredibly, so, so, so many people came over for the evening, we couldn't have got everyone in the gallery even if we had tried and even after it had been closed for an hour there were still tons of people hanging around. Me and Vicky are brimming with happiness over the evening, some really nice things have been said about the exhibition and we're already planning ways that we can take it further and make it bigger and better for next year!

Mad thanks to Andrew and Charlie for being honorary bar men for the evening, you guys saved us! To Jamie Frye for driving, helping me get drinks, sorting out the tables and listening to me stress out :) We couldn't have done it without your help. To Naomi and Luke for helping me get drinks, binbags and just being there to do stuff. To Lisa and Vickys parents for helping us with drinks, and of course the guys at StolenSpace for just being ultra cool with us doing what we wanted.

I've put up a few pictures, to be honest they're not great, I had a bit too much wine so if anyone has any they can send me I'd really grateful! Email at miss_neya_j@yahoo.com or thedeckedproject@googlemail.com

Decked has finally been hung!!!!

Yesterday we finally got to hang Decked! Im so excited, it's looking amazing and we have got some incredible boards in there! There's not one that isn't outstanding. It's taken a lot to get this all sorting and its great to finally see it all come together, although a little sad that we don't have a living room full of amazing decks anymore :)

Well I hope everyone can come along on the 27th for the private view. It's from 7-9pm. It's looking like it's gonna be a blast!

Oh and if you haven't done it already then take a look at the blog http://thedeckedproject.blogspot.com/

I needed that!!

There are no admitted heroes here

My submission for Decked

House of Aces in Photoshop Creative

Back in July House of Aces had a 4 page feature in Photoshop Creative. House of Aces is an illustration collective that consists of Vicky Newman, Dan Burrows, Louise Brangwin and myself. Check out the website here http://www.houseofaces.net/ (I'm a newish member so not on the website yet but everyone else work is amazing so go and look!!)

Decked in Cooler magazine

Decked was featured in Cooler magazine this month! Me and Vicky are super excited, if you haven't rad it be sure to check it out, it's female based and features girls doing amazing stuff, there's tons of good female surfers, skaters, cyclists, musicians etc. I was especially excited as one of my decks is in it, along with BonBon's and Mike O'Shea's.

Decked exhibition

It's been ages since I last updated this and after getting told off by nicole I thought it was about time I did it.

Over the last 8 months I've been pretty busy with The Decked Project. For those of you who don't know what that is, it's an exhibition that me and Vicky Newman decided to put on, where we have around 50 artists each customise a skatedeck. Anyone who knows me will know how excited I've been about this, especially considering my small obsession with Dogtown, eep.

Here's the flyers for it.
